Residential home inspections
Check-Mate Inspections offers residential home inspections in Boone, NC, and the surrounding counties along with a variety of other inspection services you may need for the due diligence process. We look at every aspect of the home to ensure its structural systems, roof, electrical system, plumbing, heating/AC and ventilation system, and the appliances are in working order.
Radon testing
Check-Mate Inspections can perform radon testing so you can have an idea of the indoor concentration level of radon (a known carcinogen) before you buy, radon is a result of the natural decay of almost all soils.
Water quality testing
We collect water samples from the home’s water supply (public, community, wells, springs, etc.) for testing to ensure it’s safe to consume. We can cover the basic bacterial analysis all the way up to a full metals panel and more – just ask!
Mold testing
We look for sources of microbial growth; unchecked moisture can facilitate microbial growth. We look for evidence of microbial growth in the hard-to-reach areas, including the basement, crawlspace, attic, and other areas where microbial growth, well, grows.
Infrared thermal imaging
Infrared thermal imaging can show hidden issues within the home, including moisture intrusion not apparent to the naked eye, poor insulation, heat loss, and hot spots in the electrical system.
Aerial photography
Our drone will show the conditions of the structure from the top on those roofs that aren’t safe to walk. Is the roof in good condition, has the chimney flashing been installed properly, is there damage to the chimney cap that can’t be seen? Our aerial photography will help answer these questions.
