Septic Inspections in the High Country

Check-Mate Inspections offers septic inspections in the High Country for Ashe, Avery, Wilkes, and Watauga home buyers. Are you looking to buy a home and need a septic inspection? We’ve got you covered. We perform North Carolina on-site Wastewater System Inspections. Be sure to have the septic system inspected when buying a home to ensure all aspects of the home are in working order.

WHY IS A SEPTIC INSPECTION IMPORTANT WHEN BUYING A HOME?

Similar to a home inspection, a septic inspection is a crucial step of the home-buying process. A septic inspection provides you an accurate understanding of the condition of the home’s onsite wastewater system. Although not required by North Carolina, failing to have the septic system inspected could result in a real mess (pun intended). The difference between a failing septic system and septic system in need of basic repair could be the difference between a few hundred and tens of thousands of dollars. Don’t skip the septic inspection; understand the condition of the system before buying the home!

WHAT DOES A SEPTIC INSPECTION ENTAIL?

A North Carolina Septic Inspector evaluates the overall condition of the on-site wastewater system. Check-Mate Inspections will evaluate the components of your septic system which starts with locating and evaluating the septic tank and its components. But, it doesn’t stop there; next, we located the distribution device/type and the drain field. An inspection will also include:

  • Connection of the tank to the home
  • The tank inlet and In-flow into the tank
  • The outlet baffle /  T and filter (if applicable)
  • Connection of the tank to the next system component
